Le Bons Bay Wedding // Court + Nathaniel

We were over the moon when Courtney + Nathaniel booked us to photograph their wedding in Le Bons Bay. With both families based in Akaroa and the Bays and having grown up on Banks Peninsula they literally couldn’t have picked a more perfect place to get married than the family farm in Le Bons.

Court + Nathaniel got ready in cute wee beach baches next to the farm. The ceremony was set up to be held in front of a huge and wonderful old tree that was planted by one of Courtney’s relatives. It was a stunning, sunny day for a beach wedding.

At the bach we photographed Court’s gorgeous dress and details while the girls cracked open the champers.

Court’s dad proudly walked her down the aisle.

Where she was greeted by her husband-to-be with a high ten!

We do lovely bunny tails and sun brollies at a beach wedding. Backyard weddings are the best as long as you have plenty of room for all your guests.

After a beautiful ceremony by Danielle Bartlett and a fun group shot using the drone, we made sure our wedding party had their flasks filled before heading off to do some portraits with the squad.

We love golden grass and there were some great locations around the farm for wedding photographs. After lots of exploring the farm site we went through the woods that lead onto the lagoon end of the beach. This part of the beach is one of our all time favourite locations for wedding photos and engagement shoots.

Whenever we can… we have fun playing with reflections on water and sand.

It doesn’t get better than Le Bons Bay for a wedding day! As local Banks Peninsula wedding photographers we are always delighted when our favourite beaches become wedding venues for a day.

The beach was deserted even though it was a sunny Saturday in summer. Just the way we like it! We kinda want to keep this place all to ourselves…

After some epic portraits at the beach we all headed back to the party. We always find marquee weddings on private land are so much fun and this one kicked on until the wee smalls.
