Kia ora, we're Robin + Andie, a wedding photography and film studio based in Akaroa, just along the Peninsula from Ridgecliff.
Ridgecliff is two private properties on Banks Peninsula, both set high with open sky and coastal views, and each suits a completely different sort of day.
Accrington Farmhouse
The farmhouse suits intimate and micro-weddings. It's relaxed and home-like rather than formal, which changes how a day runs: people spread out, sit down, stay put, and the whole thing feels more like a very good weekend than an event with a schedule.
For photography that's ideal. Small numbers mean nobody's performing for the camera, and the quiet moments between things, which are usually the best pictures, actually have room to happen.
Big Hill Retreat
Big Hill is the elopement one. More secluded, more pared back, and about as private as Banks Peninsula gets.
With just the two of you and the landscape, the photography changes completely. No group shots, no timeline, so the day can follow the light rather than the other way around. If the sky does something in the last half hour, you can simply go and use it.

We're based in Akaroa and we've photographed and filmed weddings and elopements across Banks Peninsula for years. Both Ridgecliff properties sit high with big coastal views, and that elevation gives you light that lasts, wide open backdrops, and the sort of scale that makes even a two-person elopement feel substantial.
Our approach
Natural, documentary-led and unobtrusive. We photograph what happens and let the day set its own pace, which suits both properties, since neither is the sort of place that wants a schedule imposed on it.
