Amuri Estate Wedding Photography + Film
Kia ora, we're Robin + Andie, a wedding photography and film studio based in Akaroa, and we love shooting at Amuri Estate up in Hanmer Springs.
Amuri sits about ten minutes out of the Hanmer township, with the Southern Alps on one side, the braided Waiau River below, and high-country stations in every direction. It's a proper destination, and it photographs like one.
Shooting at Amuri Estate
The scale is the first thing. Mountains, river flats and open sky mean your portraits have a backdrop most venues would need to drive an hour to reach. Here you just walk outside.
The property gives you range too. There's a grassed ceremony area with an archway framing the mountains, a wet-weather room with a big window shaped around the view for winter weddings, and a modern barn-style reception building with polished concrete, ply walls and a wall of glass doors opening onto the alps.
And it's high country, so the light does things you don't get closer to town. Long golden evenings in summer, snow on the tops in winter, and a clear enough sky that the stars actually turn up for you after dark.
Our approach
Natural, documentary-led and unobtrusive. We photograph what actually happens and let the day set its own pace.
That's Wedding Photos With Good VibesĀ® in practice. Calm on the day, and photos and films that carry the real feeling of it.
Wedding films at Amuri Estate
Wedding films can now be booked on their own, or alongside your photography.
A landscape like this films beautifully. Wind moving across the river flats, cloud over the tops, and a ceremony held somewhere genuinely open. Have a look at the Amuri wedding films below.
Staying at Amuri
Because Amuri has its own lodge and cottage on site, a lot of couples make a weekend of it, which suits the way we work. More time, less rush, and a chance to catch the place across a whole day rather than a few hours.
