Kamana Lakehouse Wedding // Christina + Marco

We have the best wedding venues in the South Island and Kamana Lakehouse is certainly one of our absolute favourites! This gorgeous boutique hotel on the shores of Lake Wakatipu is able to host the most amazing luxury wedding celebrations in Queenstown. Christina + Marco couldn’t have picked a better spot to tie the knot. This hotel is a wonderful place for a destination wedding in New Zealand and our lovely couple had lots of friends and family who had travelled from China and all over New Zealand to be with them on their special day. A wedding party at Kamana Lakehouse is definitely worth the trip. It’s a beautiful hotel with great event facilities, hot tubs, an incredible bar and restaurant and an exceptional balcony with the best views in Queenstown. It’s the dream.

Marco and his groomsmen got ready at an amazing Airbnb which wasn’t far from Kamana Lakehouse, while Christina and her girls got ready at the hotel.

It was a super sunny blue sky day which couldn’t have been more perfect! After getting suited and booted Marco went down to Kamana Lakehouse to ensure the arch was in the right position for the ceremony. In terms of NZ wedding ceremony locations… it doesn’t get better than this.

Christina’s mum and dad had travelled to New Zealand from China for the wedding. We love this shot of Christina and her mum having a hug outside on her bedroom balcony during bridal prep. You can see and feel the excitement!

Christina was given a garter to wear by her mother in law. We don’t see too many these days and we had to explain to her friends from China what it was! This one ticked the ‘something blue’ box and got a few giggles.

While Marco and his boys were hanging out on the impressive hotel balcony Christina was spying on them from her room. This is a good example of why having two photographers is always a good idea! The wood panelling, light installation and staircase are all unique design features at Kamana Lakehouse. It’s so refreshing to have such an interesting interior backdrop for photos inside this stunning hotel.

Christina was walked down the stairs from the balcony to the front of the aisle by her proud father.

Christina + Marco’s beautiful wedding ceremony at Kamana Lakehouse was conducted by the lovely Catherine Fyfe. Catherine is a very well established Queenstown wedding celebrant and the couple’s ceremony and vows were very heartfelt and funny.

Christina’s florist kindly gave her LOADS of rose petals which makes for great biodegradable confetti and looks so pretty against a bright blue sky. As Christina + Marco got married on Chinese New Year (the year of the rabbit) the confetti was presented to their guests in little white rabbit pouches. Very cute!

After the ceremony, Christina + Marco’s guests relaxed with a few cocktails and canapés in the sunshine while we headed off with our happy couple for photos down by the lake.

The shores of Lake Wakatipu make for awesome wedding photographs any time of year. In summer we don’t have any snow on The Remarkables, but they are still very much remarkable!

Back at the hotel we photographed an epic champagne spray before the wedding party made their grand entrance to the wedding reception. What a night!
