The Hilltops high above Akaroa Harbour make the most perfect place to get married in New Zealand. As seen in the recent issue of Canterbury Bride magazine, our gorgeous couple Lia + Aran were married in the hills high above Akaroa surrounded by their closest friends and family. It truly was a fabulous day and we just adore seeing our work in print.
Lia + Aran’s full story is featured across several pages in the magazine, but here’s a quick summary for you on their beautiful day. Firstly, the weather at the end of April in Akaroa was sensational! We love warm autumn light. It was perfect for ‘first look’ which happened in advance of their hilltop ceremony at one of our favourite wharfs.
One of our top tips for wedding photography is to make sure you allocate a few confetti cannons to your wedding party for your ceremony exit. The biodegradable confetti helps to create a truly joyous feeling of celebration.
After the ceremony, the sun was beginning to set on the hilltops and so we shot a few stunning wedding portraits for our gorgeous couple. The location + the light was on point! The shadows on the hills also worked really well for our black and white edits.
