Ōhinetahi Wedding Photography + Film
Kia ora, we're Robin + Andie, a wedding photography and film studio on Banks Peninsula who've photographed weddings and elopements at Ōhinetahi.
Ōhinetahi sits at Governors Bay, looking out over Lyttelton Harbour, and it's unlike anywhere else we shoot. Formal terraces, stone walls and decades of considered planting, with the harbour below.
Shooting at Ōhinetahi
The garden is designed rather than grown, and that changes how you photograph it. Terraces, walls, steps and hedged spaces give you structure and natural framing that most garden venues simply don't have, so portraits get a sense of composition without anyone being posed into it.
The levels are the useful part. Because the garden steps down towards the harbour, you can move a short distance and get a completely different backdrop and a different sense of scale, from enclosed and intimate up close to the whole harbour opening out behind you.
The sculpture through the garden gives you something else again, and it's a rare thing to have in a wedding gallery.
Light-wise, the harbour aspect means good things late in the day. That's when the water starts doing the work behind you.
Our approach
Natural, documentary-led and unobtrusive. We photograph what happens rather than directing it, which suits a place like this. Ōhinetahi has its own calm, and a wedding here works best when nobody's imposing a schedule on it.
That's Wedding Photos With Good Vibes® in practice. Relaxed on the day, and photos and films that carry the real feeling of it.

Elopements at Ōhinetahi
The garden suits a small ceremony beautifully. With just the two of you, the terraces and the harbour give an elopement real scale without any need for a production.
