Cossars Wineshed Wedding // Emma + Joseph
Emma + Joseph’s spring wedding at Cossars Wineshed was an absolute dream to photograph, and we’ll let some of our epic photos from this very special day do the talking…
Emma had booked a local Airbnb in Tai Tapu to get ready for the big day ahead with her best friend and lovely sisters. Alex from The Flower Press swung by to drop off bouquets to the girls, and we couldn’t believe how beautiful they were. We love spring flowers and Alex is the best in the biz when it comes to creating something truly special for her brides in Canterbury. Emma was also presented with the most exquisite floral hair clip that Alex had made by hand – she’s so clever!
Joseph got ready with his boys and brother, who was also the couple’s fab MC for the day. He was a superstar when it came to rounding up people for the obligatory group and family photos later in the afternoon.
Emma and Joe had wanted to meet up with each other in advance of their ceremony at Cossars via a ‘first look’ down at Governors Bay, which is home to Emma’s family. It was the windiest day EVER, but we managed to visit some super cool locations down at the bay and on the Peninsula to really use the wind to our advantage. We embrace the wind! We love all the photographs we shot of Emma’s flying veil – she looks like an angel!
After first look, we arrived at Cossars for the wedding. Everything was set up so beautifully and it was lovely to be sheltered from the wind in their stylish courtyard. It reminded us of the summer weddings we used to photograph in Europe, with gorgeous olive trees, vines, and one of kind outdoor furniture. It’s a dream wedding location in Canterbury, that’s for sure! Emma had grown some spring flowers herself by planting bulbs in her grandmother’s garden several months before her wedding, which looked adorable on Cossars round tables.
Emma’s lovely dad gave her away, and together with both sets of parents they lit candles to signify the joining of their families. It was a beautiful ceremony delivered by celebrant Hilary Muir and after the wedding rings were exchanged our happy couple were showered in colourful confetti.
Emma + Joe added their love lock to the impressive collection at Cossars during golden hour, and then threw their key into the wishing well so that it could never be unlocked. So blimmin’ romantic, and we loved being there to document this ‘key’ moment for them.
Emma’s dad had a very impressive car that we wanted to photograph, as he had driven Emma to the wedding in his black Maserati! At golden hour, we took the bridal party down to the blossoming trees on site and had a lot of fun capturing some cool car shots.
As darkness fell, the courtyard fire at Cossars was lit and the fairy lights were turned on. We had some fun with the furniture and got some more amazing shots of our happy and very relaxed couple! How cool is Emma’s wedding dress? It has pockets! We can’t wait to photograph another wedding at Cossars Wineshed soon.
Emma + Joe: “Robin + Andie are absolutely incredible photographers. They made time to get to know us before our wedding through a beautiful engagement shoot. This made us feel calm and prepared for photos on the big day. They are professional and so much fun to be around. We are camera shy people, but they made us feel so relaxed and at ease during the photo shoots. Robin and Andie went out of their way to scout for stunning locations for our wedding pictures. They made the best out of the extremely windy conditions and snapped some incredible photos which we will treasure forever. We have highly recommended Robin + Andie to friends as we were so impressed by the quality of their work and the lovely people that they are. Thanks guys for making the experience such a joy for us.”
