Banks Peninsula Engagement Shoot // Canterbury
We find a lot of our Christchurch based couples love coming to see us on Banks Peninsula for their engagement shoot, as we know all the best places! It’s always great to make your engagement shoot part of a fun day out, and you’ll get to explore somewhere new, too!
Sam + Jake were keen to do a beach shoot, so we met them at our favourite Banks Peninsula beach - Okains Bay at golden hour. The sand dunes were literally glistening like spun gold!
Always be prepared to go barefoot at a beach shoot with us! When the sun goes behind clouds, it’s not a bad thing as our fluffy white friends act as a big soft box in the sky (diffusing the sunlight) which results in more evenly lit photographs. We always make the most of all available natural light and after an hour or two with us, you’ll start noticing the differences in light and know where to stand in it too! It’s simply something you would have never thought about… until you’re directed by us! We want you to look and feel your best, and we know how to get the best out of the light that’s available to us.
We also include some black and white versions of your images too… this can take some of your cool photographs to the next level!
If you’re keen for a few drone photos at your engagement shoot, let us know, and we’ll bring our DJI along. It’s always fun to try out a few creative ariel shots as part of your shoot.
Why not practise your first dance together to get the cringiness out of the way ahead of the big day! A bit like that bit in Dirty Dancing, you know the bit…. right? Where they practise the lift in the water! Haha… only joking! Although, if you DID want to do that, we would get the shot! We’ve had a groom and his best man recreate that scene from Dirty Dancing on the dance floor of a wedding party before… let’s just say they were a little messy ;)
We absolutely adore all animals and if you own a dog we would ask that you PLEASE bring them along with you to your shoot :) The nuttier, the better!
Our Banks Peninsula engagement shoot locations make for some pretty original photographs in the Canterbury region, and we’ll travel anywhere in the South Island too if you’re from an awesome spot that means a lot to you. We are always on the lookout for cool new places for a photo shoot, and we have lots more epic location ideas up our sleeves… Luckily for us, our couples always seem to be up for a little adventure!
