Omarino Estate Wedding // Sarah + Jackson
Sarah + Jackson’s wedding at Omarino Estate was a wonderfully relaxed and happy day! Here are just a few highlights…
Sarah got ready at her family home which was great for having cuddles with their cat! Did you know that hanging out with a cat boosts your mood and lowers your stress levels? That makes your cat the perfect companion to get ready with on your wedding day. We can confirm that Sarah and her girls were super chilled!
Sarah’s shoes by Kurt Geiger were quite simply the most amazing bridal shoes we’ve ever seen!
Here come the girls…! We adore this shot of Sarah’s bridesmaids jubilantly arriving at Omarino Estate in style.
Mrs Bottomley’s Flowers designed the florals for the couple’s ceremony and also the bridal party bouquets and boutonnieres. We loved the colour palette and wild arrangements.
As documentary wedding photographers we always like to capture the groom and guest reactions as our bride walks down the aisle. These emotional shots of Jackson and his mum are pretty priceless.
With our telephoto lenses, we are able to discretely get fab close-ups of rings being exchanged without being anywhere near the couple during this intimate moment. We like to blend into the background, and we really pride ourselves on being unobtrusive. Sarah + Jackson exchanged beautiful wedding rings they had chosen from Michael Hill Jeweller.
Can I get a witness?! We love this shot of Sarah watching on as her best friend signs the paperwork to confirm she is now married!
The grounds around Omarino Estate have lots of beautiful locations for wedding portraits particularly in the vineyard. You almost feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere at this Christchurch city wedding venue which is on the outskirts of town.
After the ceremony Sarah + Jackson’s guests enjoyed platters by Create and Plate accompanied by lots of Omarino wine while we spent some time doing a few portraits with our happy couple and their bridal party.
Games like Jenga are always great fun for guests to play while you’re off having your photos done. These lawn games were from The Little Hire Company who have an excellent selection of hire options for Canterbury weddings and events.
We love a boho flower crown and Sarah absolutely smashed this bridal style with her 60’s influenced sunnies.
The catering for the evening reception was done by the fabulous Bacon Brothers, who made three different burgers for Sarah + Jackson’s lucky guests to order, including some delicious sides. We really recommend these guys if you’re looking for a chilled Kiwi BBQ kinda vibe.
One of our favourite moments at any wedding is a champagne shower. Pretty sure these guys were trying to get us soaked!!
Lovely Laura from The Rollin’ Pedaler arrived to scoop ice-cream which was the perfect treat for this gorgeous summer evening. “Run don’t walk” might be what the girls were thinking below…
All kids LOVE ice-cream, right? These two were so cute ‘cheersing’ each other with their cones.
As the sun began to set we went back out into the vineyard to capture some golden hour photos and to snap a few ‘arty’ drone shots.
The beauty of having two photographers is that while Robin is flying the drone Andie can be shooting portraits. The photos above and below were taken at around the same time. It’s a great example of why having two photographers for your wedding day can get you twice the amazing shots!
As the sun went down on their big day, Sarah + Jackson headed back to party the night away with their guests!
Sarah + Jackson: “We honestly couldn’t have asked for better photographers for our wedding. From the moment we met for our engagement shoot, Jackson and I were so impressed with the quality of the shots and how comfortable you made us feel. We are absolutely not naturals in front of the camera but you both helped us to feel relaxed. You were so great on the day of our wedding, capturing all of the shots while blending into the background of it all. Having two photographers meant all of the special moments of our day were captured. Your communication was fantastic, we received our photos promptly and could share these with ease. Thank you so much for the beautiful wedding photos we will treasure forever!”
