Darjon Vineyard Wedding // Samantha + Jake

Samantha + Jake’s rustic wedding at Darjon Vineyard was an absolute dream to photograph! Our cool Christchurch based couple had a laid back and fun approach to their big day and they couldn’t have picked a better Canterbury wedding venue to celebrate with their loved ones. Darjon Vineyard was simply perfect for them… and for us! We will let some of our photos do the talking…

The rosé flowed while Sam and her girls got ready at an AirBnB in Christchurch which was great for bridal prep. The girls all wore matching dusky pink PJ’s and our bride made sure they all slapped on the sun-cream ahead of what turned out to be a super sunny wedding day in Canterbury. Scorchio!

Jake got suited and booted with Frank Sinatra and his boys.

Our gorgeous bride arrived at Darjon Vineyard and was piped into the ceremony by her family friend. It was an incredibly special moment ahead of their vows under the lovely shady trees next to the vineyard. Keep scrolling to see our epic confetti shots!

We did say to Sam + Jake in advance of the ceremony… “If the confetti shot is important to you make sure your guests have HEAPS!” Oooops!

Robin used our drone to capture this creative aerial shot in the vineyard. We love having the drone to deliver images that are next level for our clients!

We had lots of laughs with the bridal party and Darjon Vineyard has so many perfect locations to capture these classic shots. It’s rustic and we love it!

Champagne showers are always good on a hot day!

We love it when our clients suggest trying a creative shot! The field photo (above) was dreamed up and requested by Samantha. We were very happy to style and capture this moment although we would normally never tell a bride to lie down in a field on their wedding day! Ha! We were delighted that both Jake + Sam were up for creating this cool photo and it’s definitely one for the wall! Our usual style of candid, documentary wedding photography continues below… we love natural, relaxed and (mainly) un-posed photos while making the most of the natural light available to us. And WOAH… Darjon Vineyard at golden hour is seriously magical!
