Anneke + Shaun’s Waikato wedding was a wonderful day spent under the mountain of love near Te Aroha, and this Hamilton based couple were able to celebrate with their family and friends in one of the most picturesque wedding locations in New Zealand – The Hall.

Bride & Groom magazine describe The Hall as being a boutique country destination specialising in relaxed vintage and bohemian-style weddings where the focus is amazing music and food, stunning scenery and a day to remember forever. This venue did not disappoint!

Anneke and her bridesmaids got ready at a gorgeous villa in Matamata (owned by family friends) which had incredible interiors which made a great spot for her bridal prep and getting ready photos! Anneke’s girls wore burgundy robes while getting their hair and make-up done, and her mum and best friend helped lace up her stunning dress by Kelly Bridal House. It was such a treat to document the girls getting ready in such a beautiful home.

The Hall is an historic and lovingly restored dance hall with the most romantic bell tower (you’ve ever seen!). Perfectly positioned for a Waikato wedding it’s located between Matamata and Te Aroha and is also close to Hamilton, Cambridge, and only 1.5hrs from Auckland. This stunning New Zealand wedding venue has a fabulous outdoor ceremony area with white benches for guests to sit comfortably, and the bell tower at sunset is like a fairy-tale. It’s a wedding photographers dream!

Anneke had a pair of sparkly Converse waiting in the wings to put on after the ceremony. We got some fab shots of the bridal party and our newly-weds in the flower meadow at golden hour, enjoying a tipi picnic and glass of champagne together as husband and wife. There was lots of good vibes and gorgeous golden light (after a quick sun shower) which made for some fabulous photos! It was a real treat to shoot portraits at a venue that had clearly thought about location options for wedding photography… so we really made the most of it! Who doesn’t love an angel wing gate?

The wedding party kicked off in style inside The Hall, where long wooden tables were decorated beautifully for a feast. This Waikato crowd were up for a good time and the dance floor was going off thanks to the skills of the DJ, which made for some great party pics!

We were blown away by how amazing The Hall was for this collection of stunning wedding photos. If you’re looking for a wildly romantic and beautiful location to get married, then this special place in the North Island might just be for you!
