Black-Tie Wedding // Lottie + Stuart

With lots of friends and family in the UK and Europe we’ll never hesitate to photograph a wedding on that side of the world. When Lottie asked if we could capture her Cotswolds wedding in the heart of England we jumped at the opportunity. We adore the Cotswolds and have so many happy memories of hanging out at Soho Farmhouse, Daylesford and The Wild Rabbit we were delighted to be able to go back and enjoy the best of the English countryside.

What a treat it was to photograph a wedding at Primrose Hill Farm. Such an outstanding wedding venue surrounded by rolling green hills and gorgeous villages and pubs.

Primrose Hill Farm’s ceremony location has a beautiful barn vibe. It was decorated to perfection with large trees and next level florals by Fabulous Flowers.

At Primrose Hill Farm, there’s a beautiful ‘getting ready’ suite which is so well set up for hair and makeup and has plenty of space for the whole crew to hang out and get ready too. Lottie had her best friends with her on the day (2 guys and 2 girls) which was so fun. Lottie also had the best white silk / feather PJ suit to wear for her bridal prep. It was easily the most chic and stylish ‘getting ready’ outfit we saw in 2023!

Squad goals right here.

Lottie + Stuart wanted a black-tie wedding with the aim of having wedding photos that would forever be a classic and timeless record of their day. We couldn’t agree more! We absolutely love a tux and this photo of Stuart helping his dad with his tuxedo is just so cool.

Stuart and his boys looking sharp and having a laugh.

And breathe…

Mum says “You can come in now…”

First look for Chris - one of Lottie’s best friends. Such a sweet moment!

Lottie’s girls wore a gorgeous pink that we haven’t seen in New Zealand. We love photographing weddings all over the world as it’s interesting to check out what’s trending in different countries. Black-tie is global, classic, chic and here to stay!

Suited and booted and looking damn fine!

Our main focus as documentary wedding photographers is to keep an eye out for emotions, facial expressions and tears throughout the wedding day… we’ll leave out the ceremony tears from this blog post though (you’re welcome, Stu!)

The best ‘first kiss’ photo of dreams!

That ‘just married’ feeling. How happy do these two look!

Spicy margs… nice choice for Lottie + Stuart’s first drink together as a married couple!

Primrose Hill Farm is the most beautiful, pristine, luxury wedding venue that we’ve seen in a long time. It has all the Cotswolds charm, style and elegance that you could wish for as a wedding photographer. It really is just exquisite!

We love seeing florals repurposed from ceremony location to reception room! These ceremony florals went from the aisle to the floor at the end of each long reception table.

When your wedding reception setup is so bomb you’ve got to get a photo of you both standing amongst the candlelit dream! Get in quick before your guests do ;)

Cotswolds honey-stone buildings, barns and countryside couldn’t be a better backdrop for wedding portraits. Primrose Hill Farm has it all!

When your dad makes you laugh out loud, cringe and gwarf during speeches… we’ll be there to capture it all!

High fives for these two legends who set up Lottie + Stuart all those years ago ;)

I’m not crying… you’re crying. It has to be said the Stuart’s speech made us cry (a lot!) too.

Black tie + black & white edits = WIN.

White heart sunnies are officially out of control.

We were so lucky to have such a gorgeous golden hour at Primrose Hill Farm. We love using the drone if we can to capture the full venue from above for our wedding clients.

First dance kicked off party time! These guys were some crazy mofos on the d-floor. Especially granny. Oh how we loved her! What an absolute gem she was tearing up the dance floor.

If you’re looking to get married in the UK and Europe next summer (NZ winter) just give us a shout. We’ll be back.

Lottie + Stuart: “We absolutely LOVE our wedding photos. It was just like re-living the day. We love all the hilarious photos that we didn’t even realise you were getting. They are all so amazing and so special - we are literally blown away. We can’t thank you enough for everything you guys did for us. We will owe you forever!! xx”
