Baylys’ Farm Wedding // Bronagh + Paul

Despite being huge lovers of South Island weddings, we do like to travel for weddings in the North Island too! One wedding venue that will get us travelling North every time is Baylys’ Farm in the Bay of Islands. It’s a next level destination for a wedding because of its location right on the beach. If you’re looking to impress your guests (particularly if they are travelling from overseas) then this is the venue for you. We were really delighted to travel up to Paihia for Bronagh + Paul’s wedding AND make a holiday out of it too.

Bronagh is a gal after our own heart. Jimmy Choo shoes for your wedding day gets a big tick from us. Aside from getting married in gumboots… is there anything better than saying “I do” in a pair of Jimmy Choo? Getting married on Easter weekend is a great idea too! There’s the autumnal colours you can incorporate into your florals and bridesmaid dresses and you know for sure that it’s not going to be baking hot. It’s also the perfect excuse to wear floaty sleeves! Oh, and there’s always lots of chocolate around ;)

Bronagh and her girls got ready at a very cool Airbnb in Paihia which is just a short drive from Baylys Farm. It was raining quite heavily during hair and make up, but the luck of the Irish saw it all dry out in time for the couple’s wedding ceremony on The Point. Many of Bronagh’s family and friends had travelled from Ireland to celebrate with them and they hadn’t come all the way to New Zealand for rain!

The permanent marquee at Baylys’ Farm is simply stunning. We loved the flower cloud that was installed to give the space a little extra wow-factor.

The couple’s cute autumnal florals and wedding signage looked amazing. We also really liked that their wedding cake was surrounded by old black and white photographs of their parents and grandparents on their wedding day! What a cool idea!

The Point at Baylys’ Farm is a next level wedding destination. Our drone shot shows exactly how incredible it is! Immaculate lawns and precision bench seating are taken care of by the amazing team at the farm.

Bronagh’s da from Donegal walked her down the aisle to her future hubby Paul, while one of her lovely Irish friends sang her heart out. It was a really special moment.

Bronagh’s sister played a traditional Irish tune on the tin whistle during the ceremony and there wasn’t a dry eye! We love to capture all the tears and laughter throughout the day.

After an epic confetti exit we whisked the couple and their wedding party off for portraits around the farm. There are so many amazing locations on site!

One of the best wedding bands we have ever seen = ‘Pat for President.’ Great energy and cool tunes from this laid back duo!

Easter weddings are our favourites… because ummm you’re never too far away from a chocolate egg ;)

The green hills and stone walls of Baylys’ Farm look like they could be in Ireland! The happy couple toasted their marriage with a pint of Guinness. Well, it would be rude not to!

There are two beaches at Baylys’ Farm… TWO! The one beside the marquee has easy access for brides in Choos.

We had such a fab time capturing the evening antics at Bronagh + Paul’s wedding. The dance floor went off! A great band, international travellers, lots of Guinness and a wedding party who were all up for a good time meant that everyone was on the dance floor after the couples first dance. It was easily one of the best weddings we have been to in terms of style and good fun. Great craic!

Bronagh + Paul: “Robin + Andie made the trip up to Northland and captured our day so beautifully. They captured the love and fun of our day so candidly. We love our photos!”
